Holy Week Schedule
Holy Week 2025 begins with Palm Sunday on April 13 and culminates with the Festival of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday, April 20. Please, join us on this sacred journey for one or all of these services in remembrance of Christ’s Passion.
Palm Sunday, April 13 — One Service at 10:45 a.m. Procession of Palms, Passion Reading, and Holy Communion.
Bring your 40 Items for Lent contributions for the Maine Township Food Pantry.
Maundy Thursday, April 17 — Services at 12:00 p.m.. – with soup luncheon following the service. And at 7:00 p.m. – with the celebration of First Communion. Soup Supper begins at 6:00 p.m.
Good Friday, April 18 — Service at 12:00 noon: Sponsored by the Park Ridge Ministerial Association, held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, features the Montag Ensemble playing The Seven Last Words of Christ by Franz Joseph Haydn. Spoken reflections will be provided by members of the Park Ridge Ministerial Association. This is a unique opportunity for anyone living or working in the area to worship at a midday service on one of the most solemn days in the Christian church year. Way oft he Cross Service at 7:00 p.m. Contemplative service that follows Jesus’ journey to the cross through scripture, prayer, and reflection, as we also hold in prayer Christ’s suffering alongside people today.
Easter Vigil, April 19 — 7:00 p.m: Lighting the New Fire and hearing the Old Testament stories of Salvation and celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord.
Easter Sunday, April 20 — 9:00 a.m. – Join us for brunch and fellowship in Henderson Hall on Easter Sunday.
One service at 10:45 a.m. – Full Festival Liturgy of Holy Communion with choir and brass.
