40 Items for Lent
The Social Ministry Team is excited to announce we are supporting the Maine Township food pantry again this year during this season of Lent. This giving opportunity has been a wonderful way to help feed our neighbors in the Maine Township Northwest Suburbs and feeds over 300 families each month and the need increases every month.
The Maine Township Food Pantry began a partnership with The Greater Chicago Food Depository last October. The Food Pantry helps with a large portion of food with deliveries each week. But there are some things that are not provided. This is our opportunity to help fill in some of these gaps:
NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS: Corn muffins, pancake mix, syrup, crackers, canned chicken, canned fruit and breakfast cereal. Rice, mashed potato mix, flour, sugar, oil, salt, pepper, hamburger helper, spaghetti sauce (marinara or meat), ramen noodles, pasta, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese.
FOOD STORAGE SUPPLIES: aluminum foil and plastic wrap.
HOUSEHOLD SUPPLIES: paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap (detergent pods are best), dish soap
HYGIENE PRODUCTS: feminine hygiene products, adult diapers (Size M-L), and infant/toddler size diapers and pull-ups.
ITEMS THE FOOD PANTRY DOES NOT NEED: Canned vegetables or canned beans.
Please bring your items Palm Sunday, March 24 by 11:15 a.m.
Items can also be left at the church beginning Monday, March18.
